Justin Timberlake's Voting Selfie May Have Just Landed Him in Hot Water Two Weeks Before the Election

UPDATE : Justin Timberlake's latest selfie won't be getting him into trouble. "The statement released earlier today by my office regarding Justin Timberlake and an investigation was incorrect and was released without my knowledge," Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said in a statement to E! News. "I am out of town at a conference. No one in our office is currently investigating this matter nor will we be using our limited resources to do so."

Justin Timberlake is rocking the vote—and the boat—in Memphis.
Just two weeks before millions of Americans are expected to cast their vote for the next President of the United States and other important races, the "Suit and Tie" singer decided to post a selfie from a polling place in Tennessee.
While he may have simply been encouraging his fans to get out and vote this season, Tennessee law prohibits voters from taking pictures in voting booths. In fact, violators could be faced with a 30-day jail sentence and a $50 fine.
According to Shelby County D.A.'s office, the incident is under review with no estimated time of how long the process will take. And yes, it's completely possible that nothing will come of it.
As for the original post that started it all, J.T. expressed the importance of having your voice heard.
"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!!" he
captioned his selfie. "No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th!"
He added, "Choose to have a voice! If you don't, then we can't HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #excerciseyourrighttovote."
