Millennials wearing Snapchat Spectacles could be a privacy disaster

The new Snapchat Spectacles might look like a toy, but connected sunglasses may carry hidden security implications. 

Snap Inc. — the company behind the disappearing message app Snapchat — unveiled its newest product, Spectacles, on Thursday. The sunglasses-turned-video-camera lets you capture quick 10-second scenes that immediately get sent to your Snapchat account on your phone (making them public is another step).

With bold, bright colors and blinking lights to indicate recording, the device feels more like a toy than a serious piece of technology, which only adds to the appeal for its user base. Now, users of the app can attach internet-enabled cameras to their faces that capture everything in their field of vision. 

The problem? The product could make it much easier to record personal information and invade another person's privacy without them even realizing it. 

Spectacles are as risky as any other new technology, though, including the sunglasses' parent app, Snapchat, Monahan said. Even if you are just using your phone's camera to record your surroundings, the videos are still connected to your account and identity. 

Snap declined to comment to Mashable for this article, but directed users to its community guidelines page.

The privacy page on its site, which includes a section devoted to the new glasses, states that many of the same guidelines for using the Snapchat app on your phone apply for Spectacles. 

"Our Community Guidelines have always said to be thoughtful and respect people’s privacy, and these ideals apply equally when you’re using Spectacles," the privacy page reads. "Please be respectful and considerate of others."

One thing is certain, Spectacle users don't want to earn a lovely moniker like Google Glass users had to deal with: So think twice about what you film and don't be a Spectacle-hole.

Chinese Monkey Geda kisses Trump winner of US Election

With the election polls seemingly neck and neck, new ways to predict whether it’ll be Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in the White House next year have emerged.

Geda the Chinese monkey, who lives in Shiyanhu Ecological Tourism Park, has prophesied that Trump will win on Nov. 8.

The monkey, a five-year old simian, has been called the “King of Prophets,” according to Agence-France Presse, and successfully predicted the 2016 Euro cup: choosing Portugal to win days before the game.

In this case, the monkey was put on a table with a life-size cut-out of the candidates on either side. Bananas were placed near each candidate.

In a statement from the Park, Geda put “deliberate thought” into the decision, before choosing the Republican candidate.

He sealed the selection with a kiss to the cardboard cut-out.

Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi to perform at Hillary Clinton'so last rally

The Clinton campaign trail continues to be a star-studded affair: Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen are now set to perform during Hillary Clinton’s final rally in Philadelphia on Monday, Nov. 7, the night before Election Day. 

According to Clinton’s campaign website, the musicians will perform at Independence Hall, where Clinton will gather with Bill and Chelsea Clinton, as well as President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Together they will “urge Pennsylvanians to make history on Tuesday by electing her president so she can continue pushing for the American ideals of progress, inclusion, equality, and strength that our founders enshrined in our Constitution there in 1787.”

Bon Jovi previously performed on the Clinton campaign trail for a Get Out and Vote concert in Pittsburgh earlier this year, while Springsteen spoke against her opponent, Republican nominee Donald Trump, on numerous occasions. “The republic is under siege by a moron, basically,” he said during one such interview. “The whole thing is tragic. Without overstating it, it’s a tragedy for our democracy.” 

On Friday, Beyoncé and Jay Z performed in support of Clinton during a Cleveland concert, which also featured J. Cole, Chance The Rapper, and Big Sean.

The move follows the success of Tyler Perry's 'Boo! A Madea Halloween.'

Lionsgate has ordered two more movies from Tyler Perry after the successful release of Boo! A Madea Halloween, the director's best showing in six years at the box office.

In a late October surprise, Boo! won the weekend box-office race with a stellar $27.6 million from 2,260 North American theaters.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer on Thursday told analysts that the prolific writer, director, producer and actor will remain in business with the studio and that one of the planned films will extend the Madea franchise.

Perry's latest Madea pic, which also stars Bella Thorne, Diamond White and Cassi Davis, follows Perry's popular character as she spends a haunted Halloween fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls and zombies while keeping a watchful eye on a group of misbehaving teens.

A handwritten letter by late rapper, Tupac Shakur, to former Death Row Records employee Nina Bhadreshwar has been auctioned off for $172,725.

The letter which is 4-page long was sold to an unidentified bidder at online auction website, goldinauctions.com.

Ondo Election: Jegede begs supporters to remain calm, heads to Appeal Court

Eyitayo Jegede, factional governorship candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday urged his supporters to remain calm, saying he is exploring legal options on his candidacy.
Vanguard reports Jegede’s name was not on the official list of governorship candidates for Ondo State released by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday.

Jegede, in a press statement issued in Akure by his spokesperson, Mr Fasua Kayode, said he had gone to the Court of Appeal to upturn the decision.
He expressed optimism that justice would be done in the end, and urged his suporters to remain calm and steadfast in the struggle.
Jegede assured that he would not, for any reason, jettison the mandate freely given to him by the generality of PDP members in the state.
“Eyitayo Jegede, your son and brother, has not in any way abdicated the general consent given to him by the law-abiding members of the PDP to seek election into the office of the Governor.
“Like I have always said, I am guided by the Almighty and the shared vision to transform this state to a land of wealth and prosperity.
“You remain my priority as we, in faith, match on to the Promised Land,” he stated.

Akure : police assures safety of residence

The Police Command in Ondo has assured the residents of Akure of their safety from the violent protest which erupted in the state in early hours of Friday.
The protest followed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) replacement of the name of Eyitayo Jegede with Jimoh Ibrahim as the PDP governorship candidate for the Nov. 26 election.

The Police command’s spokesman, ASP Femi Joseph, told newsmen the police were committed to the protection of the lives and property.

Joseph enjoined the people to keep calm as normalcy would soon be restored, adding that the command had dispatched officer and men to the scene of protests on Oba Adesida Road.
“We are aware and our men are on their way to the scene, I will speak with you more later as the incident develops.
“We are trying to coordinate our men so that the incident will not escalate,” he said.
Passengers had to alight from taxis and buses due to burnt tyres and debris on roads in Akure.

22,500 Nigerians cross Mediterranean Sea, in 2016 says EU

The European Union (EU) has expressed worry over 22,500 illegal migrants from Nigeria that crossed the Mediterranean Sea to Europe between January and September in 2016 as against 23,000 in 2015.
The European Union (EU) has expressed worry over the increasing number of illegal migrants from Nigeria to Europe which rose to 22,500 between January and September in 2016 against 23,000 recorded in 2015.

The Deputy Head of EU Delegation in Nigeria, Mr Richard Young, stated this on Thursday in Abuja during a seminar on how the EU work for Diplomatic and Foreign Affairs Correspondents.
Young expressed concern that the number of Nigerians taking dangerous adventure through Mediterranean to Europe within nine months in 2015 is higher than those who did in 12 months in 2015.
According to him there has been huge increase in migrants crossing border without the right travel document to Europe from all over the world.
“In 2014 the number of people travelling irregularly into Europe clinched 280,000 people, in 2015 it rose to 1.8 million in 2015.
“From January to September 2016 the number is about 420,000, we are expecting that the number will rise to 800,000 before the end of the year,
“Within this number people coming people coming from Nigeria in 2012 was 800, in 2013 the number was 2,900, in 2014 the number was 8,700 in 2015 the number was 23,000.
“And between January and September 2016 the number is 22, 500,” he said.
While expressing worry that all these people were passing to Italy through boat on Mediterranean he said that in 2016 3,700 people have drown in Mediterranean Sea, one in 50 people will drown.
He however said that the EU had put in place measures to address illegal migrants from Nigeria which he said include the three ‘R’ policies of return, re-admission and reintegration for the illegal migrants.
According to him there is an agreement that the illegal migrants be sent back home and be empowered with vocational skills that could enhance their living in Nigeria, but the training would be done in Nigeria.
“The second thing we are trying to do is tackling the smuggling routes, this is a complex issue.
“ We are trying to put in place some level of collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration Service, with NAPTIP to tackle this issue.
He stressed that if the immigration issue was not addressed it might longer impact on the EU-Nigerian relationship.
He therefore urged Nigeria to grow its economy and address poverty so as to address the root cause of illegal migrants

Dancers who mostly get jobs out of the relentless hours of conviction and negotiations not to talk of back and forth that goes on with various deals and clients in order to secure them jobs while they sit at home waiting for a call by we leaders in dance that they are insulting today , in this case am the king pin EVIL QUEEN.

You see it is easy for people to see u on top and wish for your position but they are never ready to take the pain and Sacrifice required to get there. A dancer that started today want to earn the same as people that are more experienced and skillful than him just because they stand side by side at rehearsals grounds.

I am a victim of my Humanity and Humility . It is emotional attachment to want to help as many people as possible that has caused me bigger problems in my life but I can't change what God is using me for just because of persecution.

They say I pur 50 people in a room without pay . Pls what kind of room is it o and where . When u make allegations pls be ready to defend to the last with proof. Where did this occur?
Which job have u done that I have gotten paid for I repeat that u can prove I have gotten paid for and failed to pay you?

You say I maltreat u when all you do is try to even sabotage jobs that you begged to be part of i made it happen then u stab me in d back.

I don't condone misconduct around clients because in business customers still have an edge and we have been faced with the most difficult clients and as dance leader are thrown into d storm of protecting our clients and dancers who are to render services at the same time. Sometimes budgets are reviewed and cut without warning even with the tightest contracts the corruption of our country still subjects us to succumb and try to resolve matter with humility even when d other party is wrong.

Till today am still owed . An average dancer gets 5 gigs from me and his owed 1 then I become a thief.

It's further painful that a lot of u are not even skillfully ready for any job we practically train u on re job giving u knowledge that u use to start ur own thing. 

Infact if those of u that have passed through my company ever paid for the knowledge ,u will still be owing me and other choreographers.

Nigerian Cattle Dealers Threaten To Embark on Indefinite Strike

The Amalgamated Union of National Cattle and Foodstuff Dealers Association of Nigeria has threatened to embark on indefinite strike over alleged extortion by security agents across the country.

He claimed that security agents forcefully stop any truck conveying cattle from the North to the East and demand huge amount of money for unknown purposes.

“We have complained to appropriate authorities concerned over the high level of extortion of money from our members by security agents.

“Again, we, the Amalgamated Union of National Cattle and Foodstuff Dealers Association of Nigeria, hereby, call on the Federal, state governments, and other authorities concerned to urgently look into the matter and address it.

“And if the situation continues without any action from government, the union have no other choice rather to embark on indefinite strike,” Hamman-Jam said.

The chairman claimed that the dealers were made to part with between N250, 000 to N300, 000 per truck on every trip.

Nominees That Have Rejected Buhari's Offer and Their Reasons

Not less than four prominent Nigerians have turned down President Muhammadu Buhari's appointment and nomination since May 29, 2015.

Apart from the disappointment from the APC chieftains and governors over the inability of the Presidency to inform them about the nomination from their States, some of the nominees are unaware of the appointments as well.

Here are four Nigerians who have rejected President Buhari's offer:

1. Usman Bugaje He rejected President Buhari’s ambassadorial nomination, and he was convinced not to mention his decision to the media.

He said: “Regarding the published nomination for an ambassadorial posting, I have not spoken to the press and may not do so anytime soon.

“I thank those who think me fit for the job, but I have so much in my hands already, especially the Arewa Research and Development Project (ARDP), which is the only broad platform in the North driving development. I have weighed the options and have decided to remain home and continue the struggle for development and good governance.

Thank you for the concern, support and prayers”.

2. Dame Pauline Tallen is the former deputy governor of Plateau state. She is also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) board of trustees. She turned down the offer for nomination for ambassadorial appointment to attend to her ailing husband.

“It is a hard decision I had to take but I have to, because he is my primary responsibility,” she said.

3. Professor Akintunde Ibitayo Akinwande is a Nigerian American engineering professor at the electrical engineering and computer science department of Massachusetts institute of technology.

Professor Akinwande rejected an offer by the president to serve in the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as chairman.

Akinwande was said to have turned down the offer based on the alleged fact that he was not consulted before the nomination was made.

4. Najatu Muhammad
The federal government on Saturday, February 13, 2015, appointed Muhammad as the chairperson of the governing board of the Dutse federal university through a paid advertorial on a national daily. He rejected the offer by saying: “Sir, I Najatu Muhammad wishes (wish) to thank you so much for considering me worthy of being appointed the chairperson of Dutse Federal University.

“It’s however unfortunate that I was not consulted before the announcement in the media. I also regret that I have to use the same medium to announce that I can’t accept the appointment for personal reasons.”

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback took to Twitter today to wish his very special lady a happy birthday, and his message was definitely aww -worthy.
Sharing a stunning photo of the pair laughing as the NFL player led his gorgeous lady into a room during the White House State Dinner, Wilson tweeted, "Come on lil' Pretty Young Thing... you're coming with me for Forever. Happy Birthday My Love! I Love You to Heaven & Back."
(Remember, "Pretty Young Thing" is kinda like his pet name for her, and it's too cute!)

"The statement released earlier today by my office regarding Justin Timberlake and an investigation was incorrect and was released without my knowledge," Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said in a statement to E! News. "I am out of town at a conference. No one in our office is currently investigating this matter nor will we be using our limited resources to do so."

Justin Timberlake is rocking the vote—and the boat—in Memphis.
Just two weeks before millions of Americans are expected to cast their vote for the next President of the United States and other important races, the "Suit and Tie" singer decided to post a selfie from a polling place in Tennessee.
While he may have simply been encouraging his fans to get out and vote this season, Tennessee law prohibits voters from taking pictures in voting booths. In fact, violators could be faced with a 30-day jail sentence and a $50 fine.
According to Shelby County D.A.'s office, the incident is under review with no estimated time of how long the process will take. And yes, it's completely possible that nothing will come of it.
As for the original post that started it all, J.T. expressed the importance of having your voice heard.
"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!!" he
captioned his selfie. "No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th!"
He added, "Choose to have a voice! If you don't, then we can't HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #excerciseyourrighttovote."

Ciara is Pregnant! Expecting First Child With Russell Wilson

The R&B songstress and NFL star are expecting their first child together, Ciara confirmed on her birthday via Instagram. The pregnant star wrote, "On this special birthday I received an abundance of love from friends and family...and I'm excited to finally share one of the greatest gifts of all that god could give."

Wilson posted a sweet image on his own Instagram and wrote, "The greatest blessing of all. Forever grateful."

Ciara and Russell's forthcoming bundle of joy will be their second and first, respectively. The 30-year-old co-parents 2-year-old Future Zahir with ex, rapper Future .

The singer, who was recently named Revlon's Global Brand Ambassador, stepped out to perform at a private event for the cosmetic organization in New York City on Tuesday evening. Ciara concealed her growing baby bump with an all-white, loose-fitting blazer and matching pants.

The first promotional poster for Pitt and Cotillard’s upcoming World War II romantic drama, Allied, has hit the Internet.
And it's only worth noting because a rumor circulated soon after Jolie filed to divorce Pitt that he actually carried on an affair with Cotillard.
This chatter was based on nothing but the fact that Pitt and Cotillard are starring together as husband and wife in this film and were probably caught looking cozy on set together.
For the camera, that is, and nothing more.

Of course, it is widely believed that Pitt got together with Jolie on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith way back in the day, ending his marriage to Jennifer Aniston as a result of this new relationship.
So we do understand where people got the idea that Pitt might bond with a female co-star.

But Cotillard did a masterful job of shooting down any affair allegations before they built up too much momentum.
In a very straightforward Instagram post, the French actress responded to these silly rumors as follows last month:
This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into.
I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up.
